MDC Rocked By Anarchy Over Congress Losers
3 years ago
Chaos has reportedly prevailed in the opposition MDC led by advocate Nelson Chamisa over the intended incorporation of some members of the party into the Bulawayo province executive.
The Chronicle reports that the province is divided between party deputy president, Welshman Ncube’s supporters, Luba Masotsha and others and those of Chamisa, Mr James Sithole and others.
The party resolved to incorporate 10 members in each of the wings to accommodate members who lost at the provincial congress. Masotsha wanted to go further and incorporate 18 more members and put her people in the top five positions of the province.
FeedbackNcube was snubbed by his own province but was nominated elsewhere and was eventually voted the party’s vice president at the Congress.
This comes when there are reports suggesting that efforts were being revived to eject Douglas Mwonzora, former Secretary-General of the party.
