Health Minister Ridiculed For Promising Doctors 'Chicken Slice' & ZUPCO Buses3 years ago
The Zimbabwe Hospitals Doctors Association (ZHDA) secretary-general Dr Mthabisi Anele Bhebhe says the Minister of Health and Child Care, Obadiah Moyo has not formally invited the doctors for a meeting scheduled for this Thursday.
Writing on microblogging site Twitter, Dr Bhebhe scoffed at Moyo’s remarks widely reported in the media, where he promised ZUPCO buses, free accommodation and (chicken slice), that is, free lunch for doctors.
Meanwhile, a journalist, Brezhnev Malaba wondered where President Emmerson Mnangagwa gets ministers like Moyo. He wrote:
Health Minister Obadiah Moyo says he’s offering “free food” to doctors at public hospitals, so that “while on duty, they will be given a meal so that they can work harder and provide a good service”.
Does he know slavery is a crime? Where on earth does Mnangagwa find such ministers?
