We Have Brought The commission To The People - NPRC On Opening A Branch In Bulawayo
The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission has opened a branch in Bulawayo to help people from Matabeleland not to travel to Harare whenever they want to report an issue.
Speaking about the new branch, NPRC Commissioner Leslie Ncube said this in an interview with the Chronicle:
There is a lot that needs to be done in Matabeleland and it would be highly conflictual for someone from Bulawayo, from Matabeleland South or Matabeleland North to go to Harare to report a complaint to the commission. The commission has to come to the people and this is the thrust. And what we have done, at the present moment, we have an office in Harare and we have opened an office here in Bulawayo at the First Mutual Building on the 6th Floor.Feedback
The commission is also finalising on how Gukurahundi victims will be exhumed and buried. Bulawayo was one of the provinces affected the most by the genocide that killed over 20000 Ndebele people in the early 80s.
