Woman Robbed Of Over US$18K At Gunpoint By Security Guard

A Bulawayo woman is said to have been robbed of US$18 600, three cellphones and laptop by a gang of five robbers who were armed with a pistol, an axe and machetes.

The alleged ringleader, Zakhele Ndlovu who is a security guard has since appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Nomasiko Ndlovu facing charges of armed robbery and possession of the stolen property.

The court heard that the gang raided a flat in Bulawayo’s central business district before robbing an unnamed female occupant.

They reportedly tied up her hands with a belt, gagged her using her bra and covered her face with a towel before robbing her.

Ndlovu was remanded to 7 January 2020 while his accomplices are still at large.
