The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) said that starting on Saturday, heavy rains are expected across the country especially along main watersheds and the Eastern Highlands.
In a statement on Friday, MSD warned that the rains could result in flash floods, the uprooting of trees and damage to infrastructure.
Much of the country has been receiving rainfall this week and the precipitation is expected to intensify on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 January 2020.
The rains are expected to gradually ease off with chilly and cloudy conditions being expected until Tuesday 21 January.
