After touring the Globe and Phoenix mine in Kwekwe where 2 miners lost their lives after a rock fell on them, Midlands Province Minister Of State Larry Mavima ordered the mine to shut down till they implemented all required safety measures, ZBC News reports.
Speaking after the tour Minister Mavima said:
…The way forward is to completely shut the mine until all safety measures required are implemented
At the same tour, the minister dispelled misinformation circulating that 20 people were feared dead after they were trapped when the mine collapsed on Wednesday.
