One of the country’s leading print publications, the Daily News last night announced that it was scrapping the subscription model which would see a reader paying a monthly subscription fee to access their news.

Daily News introduced their subscription model over a year ago and they recently redid their website. The reason why they ditched the subscription model is still not known. The Financial Gazette at one point also introduced a subscription model for their electronic news.
