NetOne Rescues Victims Of Floods In Binga

Telecommunications giants in Zimbabwe, NetOne, has through the district Civil Protection Unit donated a consignment of goodies worth thousands of dollars to flood victims in Binga district.

A total of 181 homes in Nsungwale area under Chief Sinakoma were affected by floods of which 37 were completely destroyed, leaving affected families are currently living in tents.

NetOne donated 150 blankets, 2 000 exercise books and 300 packets of sanitary wear to the tune of $110 000.

NetOne head public relations, Dr Eldrette Shereni, spoke at the handover ceremony and said that her company was touched by the plight of affected families.

She added that NetOne was working with other stakeholders to put in place natural resource management strategies in a bid to avert natural disasters.

Binga district administrator, Mr Farai Marinyame, expressed gratitude to NetOne and urged other businesses to in whatever way they can to assist the victims.
