WATCH: ZANU PF MPs Disrupt Biti-Led PAC Hearings Ahead Of Sakunda Hearing

Zanu PF legislator for Mberengwa East constituency Marko Raidza this Friday told the Vice President of the opposition MDC, Tendai Biti to stop chairing the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) because he (Biti) and his party refused to recognise president Emerson Mnangagwa.

PAC was receiving oral evidence from parastatals which failed to submit their financial accounts to the Auditor General.

Biti responded saying that the timing of Raidza’s questioning was disturbing before he asked commissioner Chaibva to excuse the Commission. He added that he had indicated in his ruling before the press arrived that any member who was unhappy must leave.

The former Finance Minister also said that his chairmanship was made by Parliament and Parliament alone can take it away.

ZANU PF MPs last year disrupted the PAC hearings in retaliation to “MDC legislators’ lack of respect for President Mnangagwa.”

MDC legislators boycotted and or stormed out of events which were attended by Mnangagwa who they say is an “illegitimate president who connived with the Zimbabwe Electoral Council (ZEC) to win the presidency in 2018.”

The latest disruption comes when Sakunda Holdings hearing is due on Monday next week. Sakunda boss, Kuda Tagwirei is believed to have strong links with the ruling party.
