Government Partners The Private Sector To Drill Boreholes In Bulawayo

As water woes mount in Bulawayo, the government of Zimbabwe has partnered some private players to drill boreholes in  Bulawayo, ZBC News reports.

Speaking after borehole sights identification in Bulawayo, Minister of State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Judith Ncube said:

This programme is meant to try and address the water challenges facing Bulawayo. We cannot blame anyone on this matter as we did not receive enough rainfall this year. As I was doing my rounds in the city, people’s lives have virtually stopped. They now crowd to get the water thus I took the initiative to engage other interested players to assist us drill boreholes around Bulawayo so as to avert the water problem. Currently, we have a crisis,

Bulawayo City Council introduced a water-sharing time table that sees residents receiving water for 2 out of 7 days.
