Mnangagwa's Son Fingered In Buyanga Child Guardianship Dispute

Mnangagwa's Son Fingered In Buyanga Child Guardianship Dispute

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’ son, Collins, has been accused of blocking businessman Frank Buyanga’s former girlfriend, Chantelle Muteswa, from finalising guardianship of their child.

Buyanga’s lawyer, William Wilcock, said his client wants to respect the best interests of his son but Collins is making it difficult for the custody dispute to be resolved. Wilcock said in a statement:

There have been many battles in numerous courts, over several years, between our client Sadiqi and Muteswa over the best interests of their son.

Our client is aware of the importance of a relationship between mother and child and wishes that his son and mother could have a normal, loving relationship.

… Sadiqi is not opposed to a friendly relationship with Muteswa, where they would be able to agree on aspects regarding their child and raise him harmoniously.

Buyanga took the minor to South Africa and Justice Jacob Manzunzu ordered that the child should be returned to Zimbabwe.

Buyanga had offered to have a Skype conversation with Muteswa on an agreement to share guardianship but she refused, saying he must bring back their son.
