Kombis Continue To Operate Illegally In Some Parts Of Harare

Some kombi operators are reportedly ferrying passengers illegally in Harare as ZUPCO fails to service all commuters on time, The Herald reports.

Commuters desperate to go home after knocking off are boarding these illegal kombies and taxis who have removed their registration numbers so that they are not easily identified by law enforcement agents.

According to the publication, kombis are avoiding routes leading into town because of ZRP roadblocks and they have chosen outskirts routes that link suburbs and industrial areas:

Kombis plying routes that lead to Mbare from high density suburbs of Kuwadzana, Glen View, Budiriro, Mabvuku, Southlea Park, Chitungwiza and Glen Norah are seen travelling during early morning, a time when there would be no police check-out points

Meanwhile in Bulawayo, some kombis are getting into town especially during knock-off time to ferry passengers to their destinations.
