We urge members of the public to be observant to avoid attacks by wild animals.

There has been a sharp increase in human-wildlife conflict over the past few years as humans move more into animal territories in search of land for agricultural purposes.

Shrinking natural habitats, fuelled by climate change, has forced animals to frequent human settlements also resulting in more cases of human-wildlife conflict.

Reports indicate that Zimbabwe has the world’s second-largest elephant population after the Ivory Coast in West Africa.
