A Community in Umzingwane District in Matabeleland South reportedly reported 4 Zimbabweans who had skipped the border into the country to attend a funeral, the Daily News reports. The development was confirmed by the information ministry’s permanent secretary Nick Mangwana who said:
Umzingwane District yesterday (Wednesday) received four people who illegally sneaked into the country to attend a funeral. They were reported by the community and they are now quarantined at Esikhoveni Training Institute. The community took responsibility for its own safety.
This comes after the government urged communities to report people who are absconding mandatory quarantine. The 4 have since been placed under mandatory quarantine. Meanwhile, over 100 people have escaped from quarantine facilities nationwide.
