United States President Donald trump has deployed the US Army to quell protests that erupted after a police officer knelt on the neck of a civilian, George Floyd and killed him last week, SABC reports

According to the publication:

US President Donald Trump has vowed to crack down on the protests gripping America with the full force of the police and military. It was the first time he’s spoken to address the protests that were sparked by the death of African American George Floyd last week. However, it’s unlikely his words will help to calm the situation.
