In an unfortunate incident, a Kwekwe man on Saturday was killed by a Hippopotamus at the Dutchman’s Pool in Kwekwe, New Zimbabwe reports.
According to ZRP’s Midlands Police Provincial spokesperson Joel Goko, the now-deceased Ndumiso Nyamazana was fishing with his friend Emmanuel Moyo when tragedy struck:
We can confirm the death of Ndumiso Nyamazana who was fishing with a friend Emmanuel Moyo at Dutchman pools. The hippo first attacked the canoe before it capsized. That was when it attacked the now deceased
Moyo said he swam to safety when the incident occurred while Nyamazana was not so lucky. Nyamazana’s body was retrieved on Monday by ZRP’s sub-aqua unit
