Mugabe Was Better Than His Successor, Says Former Mnangagwa Loyalist

Former ZANU PF youth league leader Godfrey Tsenengamu has slammed President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government saying the Zimbabwe situation was better under the late former President Robert Mugabe than it is now.

Tsenengamu, who was expelled from ZANU PF after he spoke out against corrupt cartels that are bleeding the country’s economy, told reporters on Friday that under the current regime, tribalism, regionalism and nepotism have become the order of the day. He said:

When we brought in ED (Emmerson Mnangagwa), we never thought we will find ourselves in this situation, we thought we would be better than we were in 2017, but it’s even worse.

… Policy inconsistency; today they are saying, ‘you can get from the bank, tomorrow you say you can’t withdraw’, the following day they say something else.

Tribalism, regionalism, nepotism is evident everywhere in the political parties and worse in central government, worse than it was before November 2017.

The administration has been so effective in arresting pick-pockets and promoting thieves and looters.

Before the November 2017 military coup, Tsenengamu was arrested after he called for Mugabe’s resignation to allow his then deputy to take over.

He now leads a pressure group of his own after his sacking from ZANU PF.
