Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Estate Partially Re-opening Today

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate is partially opening today (10 July 2020) after being closed for more than three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ross Kennedy, the chief executive of Africa Albida Tourism (AAT), a leading Zimbabwean hospitality group, operating a portfolio of properties in Victoria Falls, including Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Club, Victoria Falls
Safari Suites and Lokuthula Lodges expressed excitement over the development which follows the reopening of the Victoria Falls rainforest on Wednesday. Kennedy said:

We are so pleased to be able to open for business after being closed for 100 days. For the morale of hospitality people, it could not have come soon enough!

We look forward to welcoming guests back to the estate, albeit with only parts of the business operating.

He added that they shall be monitoring developments such as access and borders in the region, all determinants of demand, “then gradually open more of the property.”

Tourism is one of of the sectors most affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and as many countries are reopening their economies following a three months-long lockdown, the tourism sector is looking forward to the day when all air and road access is open again.
