7 Out Of 18 Family Members Test Positive For COVID-19 After Harbouring Quarantine Escapees

A family in Madaulo Village in Ward 1 in Beitbridge will rue the day they accepted their 2 relatives who had escaped from a quarantine facility in Beitbridge and went home.
Rapid Response teams went to their home and tested their family and 7 out of 18 family members tested positive for COVID-19.
This was revealed by Information Ministry permanent secretary Nick Mangwana who tweeted:
Wiseman Ngwenya and Morgan Ngwenya absconded from Beitbridge Qurantine Centre and went home to Madaulo Village in Ward 1. Yesterday tests were done on their family members. 7 out 18 family members tested positive. These are children below 10 years save for one who is 15 years.
The case is similar to other incidents that occurred a while ago in Matabeleland and Banket respectively where families harboured escapees and border jumpers who later on tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
