"ED Fires Corrupt Ministers, Other Political Leaders Defend Their Corrupt Officials," - Mangwana
The permanent Secretar in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has said the ruling ZANU PF handles corruption differently compared to other political parties in the country.
Managwana claims that while the governing party dismisses officials accused of engaging in underhand dealings, other parties defend and justify acts of corruption by their officials. Posting on social media platforms, Mangwana said:
A tale of two political cultures in two political entities. One leader fires a minister for being charged with corruption. The other deploys machinery to defend, justify and make excuses for his official caught with fingers in a cookie jar. #Feedback
His remarks come after President Mnangagwa has so far dismissed two serving ministers – Priscah Mupfumira and Obadiah Moyo, in that order, Ministers of Tourism and Health.
Some observers, however, say the president dismisses officials to cover-up corruption that might implicate him or his party.

Some said Mnangagwa was paying lip-service to the anti-corruption campaign as those accused of corruption are arrested and eventually set free.
Meanwhile, the recent arrest of Harare Mayor Hebbert Gomba of opposition MDC over allegations of illegally selling residential stands did not please MDC supporters who claim the arrest was ungrounded.
