"It's Difficult, To Be Honest," - Billiat Under Pressure At Kaizer Chiefs

Zimbabwean attacking midfielder, Khama Billiat has expressed frustration at the injuries he sustained during the two seasons he has been with Kaizer Chiefs.

The Warriors talisman moved to Amakhosi after many years of success at Mamelodi Sundowns and hopes were high that the would retain or surpass his form at the Naturena-based club.

However, injuries have also hamstrung Billiat’s adventure at the Amakhosi forcing him to spend close to 74 days, nursing injuries, and has played 14 of the club’s 24 league matches and has contributed only one goal.

Speaking to the South African media on his experience so far, he said:

It is difficult, to be honest — it’s emotional. You try by all means to take it positively because there’s no other way you get to contribute while sitting at home.

So, you try by all means to talk to the guys.

It’s not easy, you end up feeling like it is okay, yet you have a duration of time you have to be out for certain reasons.

Billiat was essential for Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup campaigns thereby attracting the interest of some European clubs.

He was also voted the Premiership Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Midfielder of the Season in 2016.
