ED Appoints Mtsvangwa Leader Of Government Business In The Senate

Following the death of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement Minister Perrance Shiri in July, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa the new leader of government business in the senate, The Herald reports.

According to a statement that announced her appointment, the leader of the government in the senate:

Arranges the business of the house and also protects and defines the position of the Government. The Leader of Government Business in either case obtains approval from the President of the Senate or Speaker of the House of Assembly for any Minister who may wish to make a Ministerial Statement.
