Govt Allows Zimbabwe Golf Association To Hold Competitions

Golf competitions according to The Zimbabwe Golf Association, which has been given the green light by the government of Zimbabwe to hold competitions will now resume and they will be conducted in the presence of caddies while golf club restaurants are now allowed to reopen, The Sunday News reports.
This was revealed on Tuesday in a statement by the Zimbabwe Golf Association president, Mufaro Chivonivoni who said:
Following representations made to the Sports and Recreation Commission the ZGA has received authority from the Ministry of Youth, Sports Arts and Recreation to hold competitions, re-introduce caddies and open club restaurants
FeedbackChivonivoni also pointed out that they were given the green light to hold competitions on condition that they will adhere to COVID-19 containment guidelines:
The approval shall in addition to other legislation and policy directives relating to the containment and prevention of COVID -19 be subject to the following additional conditions: Adhere to the operating timelines for club restaurants (0630hrs -1830 hrs), adhere to the limit of not more than 50 spectators, caddies adhere to the caddie safety protocol as published by ZGA, before any competitions can be held prior notification should be given

The government is still deliberating and finalising the modalities for other sports like football to resume.
