Khupe Says She'll Engage ED Despite Naysayers

MDC-T interim president Thokozani Khupe has said she will keep engaging President Emmerson Mnangagwa to find solutions to the country’s deepening crises.
She made the remarks in Parliament amid accusations by her critics that she was selling out the opposition’s agenda to establish and or enhance democracy in the country. Khupe said:
As leader of opposition Madam Speaker, l will have dialogue with President Mnangagwa for a better life. There are people with a notion that whoever dialogues with the President is selling out.
FeedbackLet me say that l will be dialoguing for the betterment of this country. If anyone thinks l will be selling out, then let me be one.
There has been a stand-off between the ruling ZANU PF and the opposition, particularly MDC Alliance, since 2018 over the presidential election which the opposition says was stolen.

With analysts claiming that dialogue will resolve the country’s economic, humanitarian and political crises to unlock the country’s potential, Mnangagwa initiated the Political Actors’ Dialogue (POLAD) which MDC Alliance snubbed.
Others have been calling upon South Africa to facilitate dialogue between ZANU PF and the opposition but stakeholders have failed to agree on modalities.
