ZESA Gives Update On Debilitating Power Cuts

The ongoing heightened load shedding has resulted from technical faults at Hwange and Kariba South Power Station, ZESA Holdings said in a statement.

The power utility further revealed that the power situation has been worsened by the unavailability of normal import levels from regional countries.

In the statement, issued on Tuesday, ZESA urged its customers to use the available power very sparingly, especially during the morning and evening peak periods. The statement read:

ZESA Holdings would like to advise its valued customers countrywide that there is limited power supply in the national electricity grid due to technical faults at Hwange and Kariba South Power Station.

The depressed power supply situation has also been compounded by the unavailability of normal import levels due to supply constraints in the region.

Customers will be updated as the situation improves.

The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.
