Christmas came early for cross border traders after it emerged that Zimbabwe Cross-Border Traders Association (ZCBTA) has introduced an affordable COVID-19 testing promotion that will see members of the association paying only $15 for their COVID-19 tests which are needed if they are leaving or entering the country, Newsday reports.
This was confirmed by the association’s patron Killer Zivhu who said this to the publication:
All cross-boader traders in Zimbabwe, we have a promotion for you in which you can get tested for COVID-19 clearance certificate at US$15 during this festive season.
Zivhu said testing centers have been set up in Beitbridge, Mutare, Plumtree, Hwange, and Victoria Falls. Cross borders countrywide were complaining about the cost of COVID-19 tests which is $65 in some instances which is beyond the cost of many due to the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
