VP Chiwenga Applauds Local Entrepreneurs

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has applauded local entrepreneurs which he said are committed and dedicated to the Zimbabwean cause.
He made the remarks at the annual awards ceremony of the Chartered Institute of Project Management Zimbabwe in Harare where he also remarked that Vision 2030 was attainable. The former army boss said:
The Zimbabwean entrepreneurs and companies have been recognised by the Government when the Government decided that the major project of Beitbridge-Chirundu (Highway) had to be done by Zimbabweans. We are happy that the road is first class, and is being done by Zimbabwean children.
At the event, a mix of large listed corporates, new startups and small-scale enterprises were honoured for their sterling work throughout the year 2020.
Zimbabwe has spent over $2.5 billion on infrastructure projects, which are key enablers to the achievement of targets set under Vision 2030.
The vision reflects the collective aspirations and determination of the people of Zimbabwe towards a Prosperous Upper-Middle-Income Nation by 2030.
While other stakeholders concur that the vision is achievable, they observe that issues such as grand corruption will act as hurdles in the realisation of the vision.
