ZESA Apologises For Massive Power Outages

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, has apologised to its customers in and around Harare for unplanned power cuts.

In a public notice on Thursday, the power utility said the power outage is due to fallen power lines on the feeder supplying Ruwa 33kV substation.

The areas affected are Ruwa, Zimre Park, Chipukutu, Damofalls, Sunway City, Goromonzi turn off plots, Windsor Park and Mandalay. ZETDC said:

ZETDC engineers and technicians are working to rectify the fault. The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.

In another notice, ZETDC said its engineers were working to restore power to areas including Belgravia in Harare following an underground cable fault. The notice read:

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to apologise to its valued customers in Harare Region for the power outage due to an underground cable fault on the feeder supplying them.

Areas affected are Belgravia: Fountain Gardens, Avon Mews, Shalima Gardens, Mushangwe flats, and some parts of Second Street extension.

ZETDC engineers and technicians are working to rectify the fault.

The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.
