Zimbabwean Ambassador to Mozambique Douglas Nyikayaramba who succumbed to COVID-19 this week and was declared a national hero will be buried at the national shrine on Saturday, The Herald reports.
The development was confirmed by Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe who said the burial will be held under strict COVID-19 regulations.
The publication said a few things about Nyikayaramba and said:
- Amb Nyikayaramba was declared a national hero due to his illustrious career during the liberation struggle and after independence.
- He was a devout member of the Johanne Masowe Vadzidzi VaJesu vekwaMajinesta apostolic sect,
- Nyikayaramba was described by many as a decorated soldier and won several accolades during his stint in the army.
