ZESA To Switch Off Power In Parts Of Harare

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of power utility ZESA Holdings, has announced planned line maintenance works in Mt Pleasant, Harare, on Monday to Friday next week which will result in power cuts.

In a public notice, ZETDC advised its customers in the areas mentioned that the power supplies will be interrupted from 9 AM to 3 PM from Monday to Friday but residents must treat all circuits as live during this period as power may be restored without notice. ZETDC said:

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers that there would be power supply interruption from Monday 1 March 2021 to Friday 5 March 2021.

Power supplies will be interrupted from 0900 hrs – 1500 hrs for the purpose of carrying out line maintenance works.

During the maintenance period, electricity will not be available in the following areas: Mt Pleasant: Bargate, Moss, Lungborne, Amton. Powys, Runnymede walk, Pendennis, Fairway, Tungsgate, Woodgate, Pershore rise, and the surrounding areas.

Customers are advised to treat all circuits as live during this period as power may be restored without notice.

In a related development, ZETDC advised its customers in the Willowvale Industrial area that there will be similar power cuts tomorrow from 8 AM to 2 PM. The notice read:

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers that there would be a power supply interruption on Saturday 27 February 2021 from 0800-1400 hrs for the purpose of carrying out critical emergency works.

During this period, electricity will not be available in the following areas: Willowvale Industrial from Dagenham to High Glen, Aspindale residential area, the area between Gleneagles and Willowvale Road, Willowvale Flats, Highfield-Gazaland, Canaan, Western Triangle, Budiriro 1 and Budiriro 3.

Customers are advised to treat all circuits as live during this period as power may be restored without notice.

The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.
