Musona Feels Valued & Respected At KAS Eupen

Warriors captain Knowledge Musona says he feels valued at his current Belgian club, KAS Eupen.

Musona (30), is on loan from ASC Anderlecht until the end of the season. He told NewsDay that KAS Eupen do not take him for granted but respect and value his contribution to the team. He said:

They have been very respectful and that is what I like most about the team because they don’t take me for granted.

They give me the respect and the value that I deserve because of my contribution to the team and also for my country.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim forward said he did not face any resistance from the club when ZIFA invited him for Zimbabwe’s AFCON qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia. He said:

There was never a problem with my club. I was one of the first players to be released for national duty.

As soon as they received a letter from ZIFA, they said I can travel. They accepted the request immediately without saying anything about COVID-19.

They know I’m the captain of my country, so they respect me. They respect the decisions I make and they respect when someone has been called for national duty.

Musona was one of the only five Europe-based players that travelled for the two matches as most European countries banned players from travelling citing the coronavirus.

The others were the Turkey-based duo of Teenage Hadebe and Alec Mudimu, Spain-based Martin Mapisa and Romario Matova who plays in Croatia.
