Zimbabwe Agricultural Show Moved To Tuesday

The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) will now start on Tuesday 28 September, instead of Monday 27 September to 01 October as initially stated, to allow exhibitors to finish preparations.

ZAS chief executive Dr Andrew Matibiri has confirmed the new developments.

Briefing journalists this morning, Dr Matibiri said there has been an increase in the participation of exhibitors. He said:

Space uptake to date is 50 500 square metres compared to 40 200 last year signifying an increase in confidence and increase in confidence in the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show as a centre for interaction between business and potential customers despite challenges that surround the effects of Covid-19 global pandemic.

To date, we have received enquiries and confirmations from various countries but it must be noted that the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show focuses on local business.

Arrangements have been made to ensure that this is a high profile event.

The show will be officially opened on Thursday.

Earlier this month, Dr Matibiri said all exhibitors to the show will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or else they will be required to produce a COVID-19 test certificate, with the test done no later than 48 hours before the start of the show.

He also said there will be booths outside the park where visitors will get a free COVID-19 test while inside the park there will also be booths where vaccination against COVID-19 will be available for free.
