US$5 000 Reward For Information On Suspects Wanted For Attempted Murder

Full statement by Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi on suspects wanted for attempted murder.

WANTED PERSON SOUGHT FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER WHICH OCCURRED AT ELDORADO MINE CHINHOYI

The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the identification and arrest of suspects involved in a case of attempted murder which occurred on 10 September 2021 at Eldorado Mine Chinhoyi.

On the said date, at around 0600 hours the complainant, who is employed as a security guard at Eldorado Mine, was on his way home to Newlands Farm after knocking off duty.

He was approached by the suspects who apprehended and struck him with an axe all over the body. The complainant sustained serious injuries on the jaws, legs and hands.

The suspects went on to steal two Itel cellphones, two head caps and a pair of safety shoes from the complainant before they disappeared in the bush.

The complainant was helped by a passerby and was referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he is currently admitted.

Eldorado Mine is offering a reward of US$5 000 to anyone with information relating to the identification of the suspects.
