Ngezi Platinum Stars Send Dhlakama On Indefinite Leave

Premier Soccer League club Ngezi Platinum Stars have appointed Takesure Chiragwi as the interim head coach after sending their head coach Rodwell Dhlakama on indefinite leave.

In a statement, club chief executive officer Nyasha Kadenge said the decision to send Dhlakama on leave was mutually agreed upon. He said:

We can confirm that the Ngezi Platinum Stars Football Club Board has appointed Takesure Chiragwi as the interim head coach of Ngezi Platinum Stars FC with immediate effect.

Before this appointment, Takesure Chiragwi was the first assistant coach of the club.

Rodwell Dhlakama, the head coach, is on a mutually agreed indefinite leave of absence, which has given rise to the appointment of Chiragwi.

We are confident that Takesure Chiragwi is well-equipped to lead the team as we resume PSL football action after the AFCON break.

Dhlakama has led Ngezi to two successive Chibuku Super Cup finals – in 2019 and 2021.

In 2018, Ngezi fired Tonderai Ndiraya with only four league games remaining.

The local Premiership resumes in nine days’ time with Ngezi Platinum Stars sitting in second position on the log table with seven points after playing three games.
