Warriors defender Gerald Takwara has joined Saudi Arabian Division One club Ohod from South Africa’s National First Division side Venda Football Club.
The 27-year-old former Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) defender was unveiled by the Medinah-based club on Tuesday.
Takwara was one of the few players who impressed during Zimbabwe’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations campaign early this year in Cameroon.
He was named the man of the match for his performance in Zimbabwe’s 2-1 win over Guinea.
Ohod FC competes in the Saudi Arabian first division where they finished 6th on the log last season.
The versatile defender joins Warriors midfielder Ovidy Karuru who is at Al Shoala FC in the same division.
Former Warriors captain Knowledge Musona plays for Al Tai in Saudi Arabian professional league.
