Tenax CS Coach Shadreck Mugurasave Resigns

Tenax Correctional Stars coach Shadreck Mugurasave has resigned from the club in protest over the appointment of Blessing Madombi as an assistant coach.

Madombi, a Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service  (ZPSC) officer, was once part of the Tenax technical executive and was fired for insubordination in May this year.

NewsDay reported sources as saying some members of the executive attended the team’s training session on Wednesday and introduced Madombi to the players in the absence of Mugurasave.

Mugurasave confirmed his resignation to NewsDay on Thursday, saying administrative issues forced him to walk away from the club. He said:

Administrative issues have pushed me to resign and it is not about the team performance, I was trying my best with the little resources that were available.

If things are not changing for the better then, it’s better to take a rest and give others a chance to drive the wagon.

I had a very good relationship with the club executive members, unfortunately, if things are not going the way you want, it’s better to quit.

Tenax CS became the third Premier Soccer League (PSL) club to part ways with its coach following the sacking of Benjani Mwaruwari by Ngezi Platinum Stars on Monday and the axing of Herbert Maruwa by Black Rhinos on Wednesday.

Tenax are mired in a battle against relegation and have 20 points, one more than basement side Whawha.
