Cyclone Freddy Could Make Landfall In Madagascar On Tuesday - MSD

The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) of Zimbabwe has said Tropical Cyclone Freddy could make landfall in Madagascar on Tuesday, 21 February 2023. In a weather update seen by Pindula News, MSD said the cyclone might cross Madagascar into the Mozambique channel. Reads the update issued on Monday 20 February 2023:

ADVISORY: INTENSE TROPICAL CYCLONE FREDDY

• WHAT?: TROPICAL CYCLONE FREDDY

• WHERE?: HEADING TOWARDS MADAGASCAR

• WHEN?: MONDAY 20 TO WEDNESDAY 22 FEBRUARY 2023

• HOW?:

Intense Tropical Cyclone Freddy: It is currently about 1250km east of Madagascar and different models are showing different trajectories with a mean trajectory expecting that it might cross Madagascar into the Mozambique channel. However, cyclone trajectories may change drastically. Therefore, MSD is monitoring the system and will keep updating the public through its official platform.

• WATCH OUT FOR:

TROPICAL CYCLONE FREDDY IS CURRENTLY ABOUT 1250 KM EAST OF MADAGASCAR. IT COULD MAKE LANDFALL IN MADAGASCAR ON TUESDAY 21 FEBRUARY 2023.

DO NOT PANIC MSD IS MONITORING THE SYSTEM AND WILL
