Jones was born in 1985 in Zaka Masvingo.

Education

Jones holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from University of Zimbabwe and McMaster University in Canada.

Political career

He entered politics as a Junior Councillor in 2001.

Critisising Mthuli Ncube

Musara criticised Ncube for appointing Acie Lumumba as the Chairman of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Communications task force.

Musara claimed that Lumumba admitted to looting State funds before. In 2016, Lumumba was fired as chairman of a Steering Committee on the Zimbabwe Youth Empowerment Strategy for Investment following allegations of misappropriating funds meant for the Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC). In a series of tweets, Musara said he doubts if Lumumba supports Mnangagwa since he was part of Zanu-PF’s G40 (Zanu-PF Faction).[1]

Musara's tweet read

Zimbabwe’s aspiring future government leaders like Acie Lumumba have to be subjected to extra robust scrutiny and the highest levels of integrity so that we don’t end up with future Gvnt leaders full of corruption and incompetence!

Considering Acie Lumumba’s admitted record of looting State Funds and his concerning record of disloyalty, restricting his access to State Funds is just cause till such a time that its clear beyond any reasonable doubt that he has permanently abandoned State Funds looting tendencies!

If Zimbabwe does not deal with or ensure repentance of young looters of State Funds like self-admitted State Funds looter like Acie Lumumba when they are small politically then Zimbabwe will fail to deal with them if they become leaders and big thieves!

If Acie has repented from looting State Funds, and if he has repented from disloyalty and if he has permanently cut off his poisonous links with the G40 cabal elements like Jonso and Tyson then show me the V11s and I will not raise concerns about that!

Those of us who were intimately involved in the succession battle against G40 and the elections battle against Chamisa know there are times we had to deal with Acie Lumumba vicious attacks against ED and Zanu PF. We know his moments of disloyalty and treachery so don’t tell me to not talk about it!

G40 elements see the assignment of Acie by the Finance Minister to have access to State Secrets and State Funds as a golden opportunity for them to use him for their resurgence. Extra Vigilance on the Finance Ministry is necessary!

If you are saying Acie self-admitted record of looting State Funds don’t matter and must not be talked about now that the Finance Minister has placed him close to State Funds, you lack integrity!

Zimbabwe yanzwa nekubirwa mari. When the Finance Minister places self-admitted State Funds looters like Acie close to State Funds, citizens worth their salt are justified to be concerned!

Attacking Kasukuwere over Mnangagwa's allies suspensions

Musara said that the then Zanu-PF national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere]’s suspension of Justice Mayor Wadyajena, Ezra Chadzamira, Brian Munyoro and Godwin Shiri was null and void. Musara said according to the Zanu-PF constitution the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) could not initiate Disciplinary Proceedings and could not be the source transferring Disciplinary Proceedings to itself.[2]

said Musara:

So in this case of the 4 purportedly suspended party cadres, if the NDC had followed the Zanu PF Party Constitution it had to wait for both Masvingo and Midlands Provincial Disciplinary Committees(PDCs) to contemplate or commence or complete disciplinary proceedings against the 4. Only then can the NDC direct the PDC to transfer the disciplinary proceedings to them.

Point of Information: Purported Suspensions of the 4 cadres(Wadyajena, Chadzamira, Munyoro and Shiri) is unconstitutional, null and void.

1.Section 70 of the Zanu PF Constitution says the Zanu PF National Disciplinary Committee(NDC) can direct disciplinary proceedings to be transferred to the NDC before they are completed or commenced.

2.Transferring Disciplinary Proceedings means there has to be a Lower Disciplinary Committee transferring Disciplinary Proceedings to the NDC. In this case its the Provincial Disciplinary Committee supposed to transfer Disciplinary Proceedings to the NDC upon request by the NDC.

3. In other words, Constitutionally the NDC can not INITIATE Disciplinary Proceedings and cannot be the source transferring Disciplinary Proceedings to itself. It cant direct itself to transfer disciplinary proceedings to itself.

4.So in this case of the 4 purportedly suspended party cadres, if the NDC had followed the Zanu PF Party Constitution it had to wait for both Masvingo and Midlands Provincial Disciplinary Committees(PDCs) to contemplate or commence or complete disciplinary proceedings against the 4. Only then can the NDC direct the PDC to transfer the disciplinary proceedings to them.

5. Without the PDCs contemplating or commencing or completing Proceedings the NDC can not initiate disciplinary proceedings. It must wait for a lower organ to contemplate or commence or complete disciplinary proceedings then if need be direct the lower organs to transfer the disciplinary proceedings to the NDC.

6. Given that both Masvingo and Midlands Provincial Disciplinary Committees had neither contemplated nor commenced nor completed disciplinary committees against the 4, the NDC has no constitutional mandate to direct transfer of non-existent disciplinary proceedings.

7. It is unconstitutional for the NDC to direct transfer of non-existent disciplinary proceedings!
