Lynda Tutu Matutu
Lynda 'Tutu' Matutu is one of the characters that has originated out of the Zvirikufaya na Keda craze that has taken Zimbabweans Facebook timelines by storm. Tutu is Zimbabwean born but now residing in Melbourne, Australia where she is a Visual Artist and Designer with Sublime Beauty.[1]
Background
Lynda Tariro Matutu was born on October 2, 1986, to Rose Sibusisiwe Matutu and Bryan Matutu. Tutu grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe often times referred to as 'Ninda', 'Dhinda', 'Rinda' due to friends and family members being unable to pronounce her name.[2]
Education
Very minimal information is available about Tutu's early childhood, but she went to Gateway High School up until she completed her A' Level's. While the rest of her siblings (two brothers and a sister) were all made to go to boarding school, Tutu was the exception to the norm and stayed behind in Harare. She recollects how this helped solidify her bond with her mother.[3] She did her Secondary School at Gateway High School where she completed her A' Levels in 2005, Art being one of her favourite subjects as she took a passion towards it.[4] She tells of how she had initially wanted to go and study in Canada but after failing to secure a place moved to Australia in 2007 instead [3] and continued to do a Bachelor of Communication Design, Illustration, Advertising, Graphic Design, completing it in 2011.[5]
Mother's Death
Tutu lost her mother on December 3, 2007 in a traffic accident which naturally had a huge impact on her and the rest of the family.[3] So affected by the incident her dad, Bryan, decided to pen a biography in honour of her life, coining it The Blooming Rose: A Tribute to Rose Sibusisiwe Matutu.
Work Backround
Tutu is part of Sublime Beauty, a Melbourne-based Make-up, Hair Styling and Image Consultancy service together with two other Zimbabwe women; Tendai Tindle Kambikambi and Sharon Ndenga Kambikambi [1][6]
