Morgan Dembo is a Zimbabwean sungura musician attached to Barura Express a musical group led by his young brother Tendai Dembo.
|Years active||2010 to present|
|Parent(s)||Leonard Dembo and Eunice Dembo|
Morgan is son to Eunice Dembo and Leonard Dembo, the late sungura legend and founder of Barura Express. He is brother to Tendai Dembo a fellow musician who is also leader of the resuscitated Barura Express musical band.
Morgan worked with his brother Tendai on their first album in 2013. The album was titled "Kutsika Matsimba" was the first offering by the two since the death of their father in 1996. The album is said to have failed to make the expected impact on the local music arena. After the launch of the first album, Morgan is said to have left the group citing misunderstandings with his brother. He is also said to have failed to perform at Tendai's album launch in 2014 making the feud visible to the public. He is said to have relocated to Chiredzi where is staying with his wife and kids. Before the fall-out, Morgan was known to be the jovial lead singer, but owing to his continuous drinking and bad behaviour, he was always in the media for wrong reasons. However in 2014, the two brothers united for a moment after a series of attempts by family and promoters.
In January 2015, The Herald reported that Morgan finally pulled out of Barura Express after several attempts by family members and promoters to come up with a unified Barura Express led by the two brothers. After the final break-up, Morgan was quoted as saying he was still going to use the musical group for his future productions but was to remain independent from Tendai.
