NAMA Awards (2015)
As per norm, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe released the names of the nominees for the 14th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards to be held on the 14th of February at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale. Here is the full list of the nominees of the 14th edition of NAMA .[1]
Dance Section Awards
The dance section comprises of four categories.
Outstanding Male Dancer
The nominees are;
- Stanley Wasili and
- McIntosh Jerahuni of Tumbuka Dance Company which was founded in 1958 and
- Reuben Mlauzi of IYASA
Outstanding Female Dancer
- Charlene Chimara of Dance Trust of Zimbabwe
- Cheryl Mabaya of IYASA and
- Maylene Chenjerai of Tumbuka Dance Company
Outstanding Choreographer
- Ketan Nagar in The Caterpillar Dance by Kinkini — The Voice of Dance
- Sean George Mabwere in International Skrillex Remix by M &M Dance Factory and
- Richard Ndlovu in The Official opening of the African Union Sports Commission Region V Youth Games by the Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture
Outstanding Dance Group
It was established on 2 January 2011.[2]
Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts translated into English, it means Freedom for Young People School of Arts was founded in 2001 by Nkululeko Innocent Dube who was once a teacher at Mpompoma High School and Northlea High School.[3] The group has won the NAMA award for the same category 3 times and several other awards.[3] It has toured many nations on the globe. It is based in Bulawayo

He is an actor, playwright, and a poet. His outstanding role in the film, Qiniso necessitated his selection for this prestigious award. His real name is Philani Amadeus Nyoni.[4]
