Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti is a Zambian lawyer and the first woman to serve as the Speaker of the National Assembly after going through unopposed.
Education
Mutti is the holder of a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Zambia. She is also a certified Arbitrator and Mediator.[1]
Career
Nelly Mutti was appointed Director in May 2005 and subsequently Board Chairperson of Emeritus Reinsurance in 2011. Mutti is the Managing Partner of Lukona Chambers, a renowned law firm in Zambia. She served as the Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission from 2002 to 2006 and as Commissioner on the Constitution Review Commission of Zambia from 2003 to 2005.[1]
In 2005, she was one of the Commissioners that served on the Mung’omba Constitutional Review Commission (CRC). Mutti has also served as Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) Vice President.[2]
