News:Bulawayo police officer abducted and assaulted by kombi operators

A police officer is admitted at the United Bulawayo Hospitals after he was abducted and assaulted by a commuter omnibus (Kombi) crew on Saturday. The police officer suffered serious head injuries.

The police officer had stopped the commuter omnibus that had no registration plates and was loading passengers at an illegal pick up point. Sources said that the police officer ordered the passengers to disembark and told the crew to drive to Bulawayo Central Police Station. Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and appealed to members of the public to help the police arrest the kombi crew.
