News:Chamisa Calls On Chombo To Investigate Police Conduct. Urges Govt To Train Police On Human Rights Curriculum

<vote /> MDC-T Vice President and Kuwadzana East parliamentarian today called on Minister of Home Affairs Ignatius Chombo to investigate police conduct in the wake of images and video footage showing police brutalizing civilians. He also urged government to immediately implement a training programme for our police so as to equip them with the human rights curriculum.

Speaking today in the National Assembly Chamisa again raised his motion over images and video footage showing police brutalizing civilians. The Kuwadzana East legislator urged Chombo to launch an investigation into police conduct and highlighted that as the Minister of Home Affairs he should issue a public apology in the context of that investigation.

Apart from urging government to implement a human rights training programme for the police force, Chamisa also suggested that Parliament should set up a Commission of Inquiry to investigate into the conduct of police violence.
