News:Econet issues statement distancing Masiyiwa from Facebook account

Econet has distanced group chairman Strive Masiyiwa from a Facebook account under the name Liberty Party, which has been posting messages of a political nature. The account carries a picture of Mr Masiyiwa andin a statement, Econet disassociated him from the page and assured stakeholders that he does not have links with that account.
Part of the statement reads
"All stakeholders, employees and regulatory authorities are hereby advised that an impostor has opened a Facebook page bearing a picture of our group chairman Mr Strive Masiyiwa, and the name of what seems like a political party called the Liberty Party. Mr Strive Masiyiwa is not in any way associated with that account."
The account has since been reported to Facebook.
