<vote /> Five out of 35 medical aid societies are reported to have complied with doctors' demands while 12 which were given temporary licences at the beginning of the year are operating within a grace period following the expiry of their licences yesterday.

Unconfirmed reports from the Zimbabwe Medical Association indicate that only five medical aid societies managed to pay claims within the stipulated 60 day period and that these were the only cards doctors would be accepting from today.

Health Care minister, Dr David Parirenyatwa also said that his ministry was working towards finding a lasting solution to the issue between doctors and medical aid service providers.
