<vote /> The Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Courier Services yesterday launched a campaign website for Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Dr Walter Mzembi’s campaign for the post of United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)’s secretary general.

Speaking to journalists at the event, Mzembi highlighted that [[Government of Zimbabwe}government]] has set up a Cabinet Committee to spearhead his campaign,

All Government facets under their different mandates have learnt the task of the campaign, and I can safely say Government is fully behind me in as far as the candidature is concerned. I have a committee from Cabinet currently present whose mandate is to ensure that all the grey areas of my campaign are straightened hence, today we have the launch of this campaign website that was developed by the ICT ministry.

He also said that he will be going to outreach campaigns to support his campaign,

Starting from this coming Wednesday (tomorrow), we will be going to outreach campaigns in countries which include Egypt, Tunisia and Kenya. These countries are members of the UNWTO committee, which is comprised of 32 countries. I was also invited as a guest of honour to the Atlanta for Diaspora Tourism Awards, which is a big indication of the regard Zimbabwe’s candidature has in the world.

Countries such as Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal and Namibia have just affirmed their decision to endorse Mzembi as a candidate for the post.
