News:Indian businessmen accused of raping Harare woman get bail
<vote /> The High Court has ordered the release of two Indian businessmen accused of raping a Harare woman at a city hotel. Krishna Satyanarayana and Ravi Kumar Krishnan were granted $1000 bail each after it emerged that the National Prosecuting Authority admitted the State's evidence against the two was weak and based on speculation.
The State's case was based on a video clip that shows people moving in the corridor.
National Prosecuting Authority, senior officer, Mr Edmore Nyazamba, during the defendant's bail application hearing, said that,
"The apparent strength of the State's case at this stage is on the lower scale because it is not known as to which of the two committed the offence. It is speculated that either of the two applicants committed the offence. It is not clear how the applications will likely interfere with the hotel staff who are in possession of the video clip, which shows events that do not include the alleged rape,"
