News:Kasukuwere distances himself from Harare Mayor's arrest
Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere has distanced himself from Harare Mayor Bernard Manyenyeni's arrest. Kasukuwere said this while reading the Local Government Bill in Parliament on Wednesday. He said that,
"As the minister in charge of Local Government, we are only dealing with issues to do with the administration of our local authorities in this case Harare. What has happened with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission which does not report to this minister. Our hands are clean, we nothing to do with what has befallen the mayor."
Kasukuwere was questioned by members of MDC-T who questioned the coincidence of the High Court order to reinstate Manyenyeni and his immediate arrest by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission.
