<vote /> Linda Masarira has been returned to jail and her case will be heard on 25 August. The Tajamuka/Sesjikile Campaign activist is being charged with inciting public violence. Today Masarira was represented by Zimbabwe Human Rights Lawyer, Kudzai Kadzere. Masarira was arrested together with others following the July 6 stay away.

Yesterday she appeared at Rotten Row Magistrates Court in Harare where she faced charges of robbery. The state alleges that she stole someone's handbag & jersey while she and other activists were occupying Africa Unity Square. The matter was further remanded to 17 August. However, Linda's lawyer for yesterday's case, Obey Shava, made an application for the state to be held to be in contempt of a court. The application was granted and the state was given a seven day ultimatum to purge the default, failing which Linda must be removed from remand.
